Description

San Onofre SB is a rare 3,000 acre coastal-canyon park.
The park is accented by steep bluffs, sandstone cliffs and a canyon by the sea.
There are a half dozen trails here, but the most popular is the Bluffs Beach Trail. It is a beautiful hike, but some areas may be impassable at the highest tide.

Directions

San Onofre State Beach is three miles south of San Clemente, offInterstate 5. Take the Basilone Road exit and follow Basilone Road untilthe road ends at the campground entrance station (Bluffs). San Mateo Camping Area is located at the southern outskirts of SanClemente. Take Interstate 5, turn off at the Cristianitos exit, go inland1 mile and San Mateo Camping Area is on the right side of the road.
